Power Interruption Planned in Somerset West
Residents in several Somerset West neighbourhoods are being advised to prepare for a planned overnight power interruption as the City of Cape Town carries out essential infrastructure upgrades.
The following areas will be affected:
Lynn’s View; Bel’Aire; Helderberg Village; Vredenberg; Jonkers Hoogte; Helderberg Estate; La Montagne; Fraai Gelegen; Steenbras View; Helena Heights; Heldervue; Die Wingerd; Schonenberg; Somerset Ridge; Briza; The Link; West-ridge; Silverboomkloof; Spanish Farm; La Concorde; La Sandra; Monte Sereno; Highveld; Montchere; Goede Hoop; and Pearl Marina.
Key Points:
The outage is scheduled from 6:00pm on Saturday, 27 June, until 6:00am on Sunday, 28 June
The work is part of planned electricity infrastructure maintenance
More than 20 Somerset West neighbourhoods are expected to be affected
Residents are advised to switch off appliances and treat all electrical installations as live during the outage

Niel Raath of Somerset West Hockey Club represented South Africa at the FIH Men's Hockey Nations Cup, helping the national side reach the final of the tournament.
Although South Africa narrowly missed out on promotion to the FIH Pro League after a 2-1 defeat to France in the final, the team's performance marked an impressive run on home soil.
