⛽ South African Petrol Stations Could Soon Close at Night
Petrol stations across South Africa are reportedly considering reducing their operating hours or closing overnight because of rising fuel costs and financial pressure.
According to the South African Petroleum Retailers Association (SAPRA), many stations are struggling as motorists spend less on fuel while operating costs continue to rise.
Here’s what’s causing concern:
Fuel prices remain extremely high
Petrol stations are selling less fuel
Operating costs keep increasing
Some stations may cut staff or close at night
Industry representatives say late-night trading is often the least profitable period, especially for smaller or rural stations.
While no nationwide closures have been announced, the warning highlights the growing pressure facing fuel stations across the country.
